Family medicine

The aim of family medicine is to promote healthy lifestyles, prevent cardiovascular risk factors, monitor programmes for the early detection of cancer and the vaccination calendar, diagnose primary care diseases and treat and rehabilitate them.

Mainly the aspects that we will deal with in my office will be the promotion of life habits (physical exercise, alcohol consumption, obesity, smoking cessation and the promotion of mental health following mindfulness programs).

Another essential pillar of my work is cardiovascular risks prevention (including hypertension, cholesterol, diabetes, smoking and obesity).

Family medicine also advises on following the vaccination schedule for the prevention of infectious diseases.

Another of my functions is to advise on the follow-up of early cancer diagnosis programs according to the age of each patient (colorectal, lung, melanoma, gynaecological: breast/ovarian/uterine neck, prostate and thyroid).

Finally, I will answer all those doubts in the field of primary care as well as advise the referral to the specialist when required.

Antiaging medicine

It helps us to improve and enhance our quality of life through good living habits and thus prevent possible health problems that may arise in the future.

The healthy lifestyle diamond

To take care of yourself and prevent future problems it is important to take into account 5 factors:

  1. The diet: It is recommended to follow a balanced diet where fruit, vegetables and vegetable protein predominate. It is essential to avoid alcohol, tobacco and prolonged exposure to the sun.
  2. Physical exercise: Life is about movement. Leading an active life will guarantee quality ageing. Each person requires personalised physical exercise in accordance with their vital characteristics, which is why it is important to design an individualised plan.
  3. Quality of sleep: Guaranteeing a good night's sleep is vital to avoid bags and wrinkles. Sleep regulates the release of essential neurons and neurotransmitters that are important for physical and mental well-being.
  4. Hormonal control: With the passage of time, a biological hormonal change associated with aging is observed. It is essential to carry out periodic analyses to be able to anticipate possible pathologies that precipitate these changes. For example: diabetes, hypertension, early menopause or hypercholesterolemia, among others.
  5. Stress control: Having adequate control over stress is the determining factor that will allow the previous objectives to be achieved.

Antiaging facial medicine

Anti-aging facial medicine is based on the wise combination of different techniques and procedures to recover the facial harmony that is lost over time. There are several options such as botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid, chemical peels, laser platform or mesotherapy with vitamins.

This aspect of medicine consists of improving the quality of the skin to prevent the appearance of spots, expression wrinkles and flaccidity. At the same time it allows the correction of small imperfections and facial volume loss.

The key is to understand anti-aging facial medicine as a preventive and maintenance medicine. It does not look for big changes, it looks for naturalness and respect for a healthy aging.
